Master's Degree Programs
Master’s Degree Academic Programs
To earn the Master’s Degree at Bethel Christian University, students must successfully complete a minimum of 75 credit hours of approved graduate-level coursework. These credits represent a combination of core courses, specialized electives, research components, and practical ministry experiences designed to ensure comprehensive academic and professional formation.
Transfer Credits and Prior Learning
Students may apply transfer credits from other accredited institutions in areas such as Theology, Biblical Studies, Humanities, and related disciplines, provided that the courses are comparable in scope and content to those offered by Bethel Christian University. In addition, recognized ministry experience, leadership seminars, and documented life-learning experiences may be evaluated for credit through the university’s Prior Learning Assessment process, subject to institutional policy.
All transfer credits and experiential learning credits must:
- Align with the academic standards and learning outcomes of the respective degree program.
- Be approved by the Dean of Academic Studies prior to inclusion in the student’s official degree plan.
Thesis Requirement
As a culminating academic exercise, each candidate is required to complete a scholarly thesis or study syllabus of approximately 25,000 words, which will account for 10 credit hours toward the degree requirements. This thesis must:
- Be grounded in rigorous research and demonstrate mastery of the student’s chosen field of study.
- Incorporate a bibliography of at least ten scholarly sources, including a minimum of six books that must be read in full.
- Reflect critical engagement with primary and secondary sources and adhere to recognized academic writing standards.
The thesis serves as an integrative capstone, enabling students to synthesize theoretical knowledge and practical application within their ministry or professional context.
