Diploma in Christian Ministry

The Diploma in Christian Ministry course provides the students with the necessary basic knowledge of Ministry.
Successful completion of the Diploma course will lead to the award of the University’s Diploma in Christian Ministry and will entitle the students to register for the Associate Degree in Theology.

WHAT IS ACCREDITATION

Program Description

The Diploma in Christian Ministry is a flexible one-to-two-year program designed to provide foundational theological education and practical ministry skills. Students may complete the program in one year (accelerated track) or two years (standard track) depending on their schedule and ministry commitments. This program equips learners for effective service in local churches, missions, and Christian organizations, while laying a strong academic base for further theological studies.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Faith Commitment: A personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read and understand English.

Application Materials:

  • Completed application form.
  • Two references (one pastoral, one personal).

Transfer Credit Policy

At Bethel Christian University, we value your previous learning and ministry experience. You may receive credit in three ways:

  • Academic Transfer: If you have studied at another Bible college or Christian school, we can accept some of those courses.
  • Ministry Experience: If you have served in ministry (such as preaching, teaching, or church leadership), you can earn credit through our Ministry Experience Review.
  • Credits transferred must be comparable subjects to those required and offered by the University
  • Students may transfer up to 50% of the total credits required for the diploma program from other accredited institutions.
  • The remaining 50% of the coursework must be completed at Bethel Christian University to earn the diploma.

 

Academic and Ministry Evaluation Process

  • Transcript Review: Verification of previous academic work.
  • Portfolio Assessment: Submission of ministry documentation (e.g., leadership roles, outreach initiatives).
  • Interview (if required): To assess ministry competency and alignment with program goals.

Examples of Recognized Ministry Experience

  • Pastoral or associate pastoral leadership.
  • Teaching in formal or informal Christian education settings.
  • Evangelistic and missionary engagement.
  • Church administration and governance roles.
  • Community-based Christian service initiatives.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Diploma in Christian Ministry will:

  • Apply biblical principles to personal life and ministry contexts.

  • Engage in ethical and culturally sensitive ministry practices.

  • Standard Track: 2 years (extended study)

Definition of a Credit Hour

A credit hour is a unit that measures the amount of academic work required to achieve the intended learning outcomes of a course. Bethel Christian University follows the accepted standard for credit hour calculation in higher education.

Credit Hour Allocation

Courses in this program vary in credit value. Most courses are 3 credit hours, while some may carry 1 or 2 credit hours, depending on the scope and learning outcomes. A credit hour represents the amount of academic work required to achieve the intended objectives, including instructional time and independent study. Students should review the course descriptions for specific credit allocations.

Application and Registration Fees

  • One‑Time Application Fee (Non‑refundable): $50.00
  • One‑Time Registration Fee: $50.00

Tuition Fees: $25.00 per semester credit hour

Scholarship Opportunities:

  • Partial scholarships are available based on financial need and academic merit
  • Eligible students may receive up to 30% tuition aid

General Financial Policies:

  • Application fees are non‑refundable
  • Registration fees are paid once per program enrollment
  • Tuition is calculated based on approved semester credit hours
  • Scholarships apply only where explicitly stated
